Vance’s position was reportedly made clear during a “tense” phone call involving Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and other officials. Netanyahu and his team reportedly attempted to persuade Trump to abandon a two-week deadline for a nuclear deal with Iran and immediately join Israeli attacks, arguing for the urgency of using American bunker-buster bombs against Iran’s Fordow facility.
