Vanessa Trump announced on an Instagram Story on Friday that she is free of cancer six months after her initial diagnosis. The 48-year-old shared the update in a brief video clip alongside her 19-year-old daughter, Kai Trump, telling viewers that her test results came back clear.
April Diagnosis and Surgical Treatment
Vanessa Trump was diagnosed with breast cancer in April and publicly shared the news in May, noting at the time that she had undergone surgery and was working with a medical team on a treatment plan. In June, she entered the second phase of her treatment following her initial procedure. Surgery cures most breast cancers, while additional interventions such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and endocrine therapy reduce long-term risks when residual disease remains.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month Discussion
The Friday video announcement serves as a teaser for a longer YouTube discussion featuring Vanessa Trump, Kai Trump, and Dr. Nicole Saphier, released to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Kai Trump wrote on Instagram that the conversation focuses on her mother’s diagnosis journey, early detection, and prevention. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in April. So we thought we’d share her story and how she was diagnosed and how she overcame it,
Kai Trump said.

Family Background and Medical Context
Vanessa Trump shares five children with Donald Trump Jr., to whom she was married before their 2018 separation: Kai, 19; Donald III, 17; Tristan, 15; Spencer, 14; and Chloe, 12. She is currently dating pro golfer Tiger Woods. Following her initial diagnosis announcement, family members including Ivanka Trump publicly offered support. The American Cancer Society states that about 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer during their lifetime, with the disease accounting for about 30% of all new female cancers every year.
