Honoring Nana Lil at Woodside Farm
Nana Lil passed away in May 2024, leaving behind a legacy cherished by her family. Woodside, located on the family farm where she spent her married life, provided a fitting backdrop for a reunion of her great-grandchildren.
the invitation to visit Woodside came from the author’s mother, extending to Alana, Caoilinn, and Lorcán (children of Aileen); Ricky (the author’s son); Peter (son of Colm and Elaine); Katie (the author’s niece); and Danann, the newest addition to the family.
A Transatlantic reunion
The gathering held particular significance as it included Danann, at just over three months old, and his parents, Diane and fionnán, who traveled from Australia. Diane and Fionnán were married in Australia last year, an event many family members were unable to attend.
The author expressed the joy of being able to personally congratulate the couple, stating it was “extra special” to share in their happiness after missing their wedding. The reunion provided a valuable chance to connect with family members who live abroad.
