According to Pianetti, “A driver and her passenger engaged on a completely overwhelmed countryside and fell into the ditch. A witness,also elected municipal,became the rescue of the two people who can only save the driver.”
Hundreds Without Power
The Var prefecture stated in a press release that “Fifty people were safe in Bormes-les-Mimosas, Vidauban, Taradeau, the Môle and Cogolin. Recognitions in the field are still underway and this assessment remains temporary.”
Power Outages Persist
As of Tuesday afternoon, the prefecture reported that 203 customers remained without electricity in bormes-les-Mimosas, Lavandou, Saint-Raphaël, and Puget-sur-Argens.

“200 firefighters from the SDIS du Var are maneuvering, reinforced by 120 firefighters from Bouches-du-Rhône, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes, SDIS13, the regiment of instruction and intervention of Civil Security of Brignoles, Marseille firefighters,” the prefecture stated.
The prefecture also noted that “Two civil security helicopters have also been initiated for recognition missions and the helicopter of 7 people.” Fifty national gendarmes are assisting the municipal police.
