Five Spanish nationals released from Venezuelan prisons are now en route to spain, according to Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares, and are expected to land on Friday. “Our five compatriots released today [Thursday] in venezuela are already flying to Spain.They will soon be home with their loved ones,” the minister posted on X. The released Spaniards are José María Basoa, Andrés Martínez Adasme, Miguel Moreno Dapena, Ernesto Gorbe Cardona, and Venezuelan-Spanish national Rocío San Miguel.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement the release of these Spaniards as part of a “notable number” of people imprisoned whose release was announced Thursday by Venezuelan authorities.
In statements to RNE radio,Albares explained that they are doing well ”under the circumstances” and that he has been able to speak with all five,who have also spoken with their families. Though, he remained cautious regarding the details of the release.
