Miami, FL – Venezuelan actress Rhoda Torres is desperately seeking answers after her son, Jonathan Guillermo Torres Duque, was detained nearly two months ago upon returning to Venezuela from the United States.
Torres took to social media, posting a heart-wrenching video on Instagram, pleading for facts about her son’s whereabouts and demanding his release.
Jonathan Guillermo, 28, was apprehended on October 27th at a checkpoint in peracal, Táchira state, as he traveled by land from Colombia. Torres, who had relocated to the U.S. a decade ago with her children but returned to Venezuela two years prior, was present at the checkpoint and witnessed her son’s arrest.
“I went there to bring my son home to his family,” Torres tearfully recounts in the video. “I saw him detained, I hugged him, we both cried.”
Sence that day, Torres has been unable to locate her son. She has visited various detention centers but has received no information about his whereabouts. Rumors suggest he may have been transferred to Caracas, but Torres has been unable to confirm this.

“He’s a good boy,” she pleads. “He speaks two languages, he’s tall, maybe he looks foreign, but he’s innocent. Please, authorities, help me. I’m begging you.”
