Jose ramirez, 28, was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in Salt Lake City last week.The impact was severe, resulting in the amputation of both his legs. ramirez, who arrived in the U.S. just a year ago ‌seeking a ⁤better life, is⁢ now facing mounting medical bills and an uncertain​ future.

“It’s been a nightmare,” said Maria Rodriguez, Ramirez’s cousin,‍ who ‌is helping to coordinate his care.”He was so full of hope when he came here, and now‌ this. We just want to get him the best possible care and help him get back on his feet.”
