Venezuelan Teen Killed in Dallas After Resisting Sexual Assault
Dallas, Texas - A 17-year-old Venezuelan immigrant, Keisy Fabiana Matos, was tragically killed in Dallas on New Year’s Eve after resisting a sexual assault.Matos, originally from Cabimas, Venezuela, was shot twice in the chest in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Timberglen Road. According too reports, Matos was out with two acquaintances when one of them attempted to forcibly kiss her. When she resisted and bit him, he allegedly pulled out a gun and fired.
the alleged shooter, also a venezuelan national from La Villa del rosario, was apprehended by Dallas police. The second individual involved in the incident was reportedly released.
News of Matos’s death has sent shockwaves through her community,both in Dallas and back home in venezuela. Friends described her as a kind, studious, and energetic young woman with a radiant future ahead of her.
“She was a lovely soul, always smiling and full of life,” said a friend who wished to remain anonymous.”It’s just heartbreaking to think that somthing like this could happen to someone so young and full of promise.”
