The rise of international Travel & Connectivity Needs
More Americans are looking beyond domestic destinations, seeking experiences abroad. as travel patterns shift, the need for affordable and reliable international connectivity is growing. Verizon is responding too this demand by significantly enhancing the international features of its prepaid Simple Mobile and Total Wireless brands, starting August 28th.

Many consumers found themselves paying a premium for features they only needed for short periods. Verizon’s move aims to provide a more flexible and cost-effective solution, allowing travelers to utilize their existing plans without the hassle of finding local coverage or incurring unexpected charges.
Simple Mobile: Expanded International Data & Calling
Simple Mobile prepaid plans already offer a base level of international calling and data, but these are being substantially increased. All plans include a data allotment that slows to unlimited speeds once the high-speed data is used. Here’s a breakdown of the changes:

The $60 Unlimited World Plus plan also provides access to Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network (where available) and international roaming in over 140 countries.
Total Wireless: Doubling Down on International Coverage
Total Wireless is also enhancing its international offerings. The two top-tier plans, total 5G Unlimited ($50/month) and Total 5G Unlimited Plus ($60/month), now include significantly expanded roaming and calling benefits.
As of August 28th, both plans offer roaming coverage in more than 30 countries and international calling to 180 countries. The Total Base 5G Unlimited plan remains unchanged, providing unlimited high-speed data (excluding 5G Ultra Wideband), international calling to over 85 countries, texting to over 200 destinations, and roaming in Canada and Mexico.
Choosing the Right Plan for Your Travels
The best plan for you will depend on your individual travel patterns and needs. If you primarily travel to Canada and Mexico, the Total Base 5G Unlimited plan may suffice. For more extensive international travel, the Simple Mobile Unlimited World or Total 5G Unlimited Plus plans offer the most comprehensive coverage and data allowances. Carefully consider the countries you plan to visit and the amount of data you anticipate using to make an informed decision.
