However, in a social media post Monday, Verstappen admitted his move “was not right and should ⁣have not happened,” ​attributing the incident‌ to​ frustration stemming from tire strategy and on-track battles after a safety⁣ car restart.

Russell had accused Verstappen of deliberate ⁣action, suggesting the Red Bull driver should have been disqualified. The Verstappen apology ‍follows the race incident where Russell attempted⁢ to overtake Verstappen, leading to the collision.
