Verucchio music Festival Announces 2025 Lineup
VERUCCHIO, Italy – The 41st annual Verucchio Music Festival will animate the historic center of Verucchio in July, featuring a diverse lineup of artists performing in Piazza Battaglini. The festival,promoted by the Municipality of Verucchio,with artistic direction by Ponderosa Music & Art,will also include baroque music concerts and an exhibition.
Opening Weekend Highlights
The festival kicks off with Quintorigo and John de Leo on July 18, followed by Elio on July 19 with his show, “When a Musician Laughs.”
quintorigo & John de Leo
Following the success of their winter tour celebrating 25 years of “Toad,” Quintorigo and John de Leo will bring their blend of pop, rock, classical, and jazz to the stage. The performance will feature selections from “Toad,” “Grigio,” and “In Cattività.” The original lineup includes John de Leo (voice), Valentino bianchi (sax), Gionata Costa (cello), Andrea Costa (violin), and Stefano Ricci (double bass).
Elio – “When a Musician Laughs”
Elio and his band will explore the repertoire of seriously comic songs from the 1960s, drawing from artists such as Fo, Gaber, Jannacci, Cochi and Renato, Flaiano, and Marcello Marchesi.
Later Performances
The Original Blues Brothers Band will perform on July 25, and Eugenio in via di Gioia will close out the festival on july 26 with their “Love is Everything – Summer Tour 2025.”
The Original Blues Brothers Band
Presented by Dan Aykroyd and Judith Belushi, The Original Blues Brothers Band has been performing internationally since its reorganization in 1988, headlining jazz and blues festivals throughout Europe.
Eugenio in via di Gioia – “Love is Everything – Summer Tour 2025”
Eugenio in via di Gioia will perform songs from their new album, “Love is Everything,” and also fan favorites from their repertoire. The performance promises to be a collective festivity of lightness, reflection, and audience participation.
Additional Events
In addition to the main concerts, the festival will feature baroque music concerts at the Church of Suffragio and an exhibition titled “The First 20 Years of the Verucchio Festival 1984-2004″ in the portico of the Municipality. Admission to both the concerts and the exhibition is free.
Baroque Concert schedule
- July 15: “A Sound of the Pifferi” - Inaugural concert with “the pfarescha” formation performing instrumental music from the 15th and 16th centuries.
- July 17: “Women of Grace and Majesty” - An all-female concert dedicated to Italian composers of the 17th century.
- July 21: “Three Voices for Three Lights” – A performance of 18th-century European Baroque works by three tenors, exploring themes of love, faith, and glory.
