Understanding the Issues and Providing⁢ Solutions

A better understanding of the issues facing Beninese cultural actors, and providing appropriate‌ solutions, is the objective that⁢ the Arts and Culture Development Agency wishes to achieve through Jeudi des arts, ⁣a new initiative to promote the artistic ‌sectors in Benin.

According to ADAC’s ⁢director general, it is a monthly meeting intended to be thematic.⁣ It will be an opportunity ⁣to talk ⁢to actors from all sectors of the artistic chain. “Every month, we‍ will meet the ⁢actors of each sector, the sectors⁢ that are considered‍ by the​ government ⁤of ⁢Benin as priority sectors of the arts ‍and culture in Benin”, underlined⁤ William CODJO.

The⁤ sectors in question include visual arts, audiovisual cinemas, music, theatre, literature, and dance. “The players in these sectors, regardless of their​ level ‌in ⁣the chain, we would like to meet them around​ a table, because often, everyone ⁤limits themselves to their immediate area and considers that the problems that⁤ are limited when ‌in fact,‌ there​ is a⁣ holistic ​approach, a​ global approach that we should ⁢have when solving the problems that arise in each of these sectors,” explained the ​CEO of ADAC.

A Holistic Approach to Solving⁤ Problems

The challenge, according ‌to him, is to‌ ensure that the professions in these different sectors exist, operate and complement each other; although there are international standards that can be adapted⁤ to⁤ the Beninese context in order to allow everyone to ⁢find their rightful place within each⁢ value chain.

After this first‍ meeting which brought together actors from all artistic‍ sectors, the other editions of Jeudi⁤ des arts will be dedicated to each of ⁤the sectors ⁤considered to be priority sectors.
