Adrian Johnson Solo Exhibition: “The Subject is the Object, and the Object is the Subject”
British artist Adrian Johnson is set to showcase his unique and distinctive works at the Nishi-Azabu CALM & PUNK GALLERY in Tokyo, Japan, from September 20th. As a renowned graphic artist, illustrator, and art director, Johnson has been creating captivating pieces for many years, constantly evolving his style and setting himself apart from current trends.
Johnson’s trademark exaggerated yet symmetrical graphic works are a testament to his timeless and sophisticated style, which has made him one of the original image makers. With over 20 years of experience as an illustrator, Johnson has produced many impressive works for the commercial world. However, this exhibition marks his first solo showcase in Japan as a painter.
The exhibition will feature two large works and 14 small ones, centered around unique hand-painted canvas pieces. This showcase promises to be an exciting opportunity to experience Johnson’s artistry and creativity firsthand.

Adrian Johnson is a British graphic artist, illustrator, and art director. With a career spanning over two decades, Johnson has created unique and distinctive works that have been showcased in various exhibitions around the world, including London, Paris, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. He has also lectured at numerous universities and art colleges across Europe and has been a guest speaker at design conferences globally.
