Despite a string of injuries, Victor Wembanyama has helped energize a young, gifted roster for the San Antonio Spurs, positioning the franchise as one of the most exciting teams in the National Basketball Association. They will face the top-seeded Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs, beginning April 20. While Denver remains the favorite, San Antonio’s improved depth and Wembanyama’s two-way impact have made the series far more competitive than preseason projections suggested.

For a franchise that has not won a playoff series since 2019, the current trajectory represents a significant step forward. The organization has emphasized player development and strategic patience, avoiding major trades in favor of internal growth.
