Victoria’s Coolabah Building and Landscapes Wins Multiple Pool Awards

In Victoria, David Jarman and Lewis Moran from Coolabah Building and Landscapes received three awards for their pool designs. They won:

1. Best Modern Pool in Albert Park.
2. Best Pool and Entertainment Area in Lysterfield.
3. Best Pool with a View in Kallista.

Jarman has over 40 years of experience. He started as a landscaper, then became a builder, and transitioned to pool building. His company now provides landscaping, building, and pool services, managing entire backyard projects.

The Backyard Pool Awards, hosted by Poolz, are in their second year. Tony Loxton founded Poolz to connect pool builders with homeowners. He aimed to showcase builders’ work to the public. This year, the awards received 1,500 entries and around 60,000 online votes.

Entries must feature pools built within the past five years, though this will change to three years next year. Loxton explained that recently built pools may lack completed landscaping, making them less appealing.

Poolz checks builders for quality. Loxton’s platform has 500 members, but they rejected 170 due to low standards. They also operate a Facebook group with 150,000 members discussing pool-related topics and issues.

Australia has a high number of pools per person. Loxton believes this trend supports a thriving pool industry due to the country’s love for water activities.

– Most “Insta” Worthy Pool: Feature Pools, Red Hill, Vic.
– Most Challenging Pool Build: Shipping Container Pools, Buderim, Qld.
