Vienna Capitals Move to Graz
Graz, 10.01.2026. – The “Schlagerparade” continues! The Moser Medical Graz99ers face the Vienna Capitals on Sunday (5:30 PM) in what promises to be another thrilling top-of-the-table clash at the Merkur Eisstadion. Head Coach Dan Lacroix discusses what impresses him about his team, the challenges posed by the Vienna Capitals, and the difficulties he’s currently facing in finalizing the Graz lineup.
The adrenaline rush from last night’s captivating overtime victory against Bolzano (3-2) will likely offset the fatigue from the past week, as Lukas Haudum confirmed immediately after the game. However, head Coach Dan Lacroix won’t know his definitive lineup (“A virus in the locker room is always very challenging”) until tomorrow, game day.
The usual “Medical Report,” assessing the players after this morning’s training session, has raised additional questions. Kilian Zündel, who was recently sidelined due to illness, is back in training. Currently, there are no new illness-related absences. However, the Bolzano game left its mark. “Two or three players will only be able to confirm their availability on Sunday,” says sporting Director Philipp Pinter.

On Friday night, they rallied from a 0-2 deficit against the Linz Black Wings, thanks to a brace from Zane Franklin, before ultimately losing in overtime. The capitals are also dealing with a critically important number of absences: Jérémy grégoire, Scott Kosmachuk, Senna Peeters, Marco Richter, Sebastian Wraneschitz, Sam Antonitsch, and Raphael Wolf were all unavailable for the Linz game.
