Ahmet Sarı,who has served as headman (muhtar) of Hatay’s Altınözü district for two terms,initiated the investment to enhance the value of locally grown olives. He inherited the 150-decare olive grove and saw an opportunity to create a enduring economic engine for the community.
Positive Impact on Residents
The facility has been met with satisfaction from local residents who are now employed there. Erhan Çaylı, a 29-year-old machinist, expressed his gratitude, stating he previously had to seek work in other provinces. “With the establishment of this facility by our headman, I had the opportunity to work in my own neighborhood. It is a great advantage for me to work without going out of town,” he said.
Mehmet Aslan, 44, is involved in the logistics of the operation, from olive collection to worker transportation. “Thanks to this facility,I make a living for my family. I would like to thank our headman for providing such an opportunity to our neighborhood,” Aslan stated.
Expansion Plans and Export Goals
