Aston Villa Secures Thrilling 3-2 Win ⁣Over⁣ Everton in ‌English Football League

Sharjah​ 24 – Asad Khalil: Aston Villa secured a ​hard-fought 3-2 win ​over their visitors‍ Everton in the ‍fourth round of the English Football League.

Everton surprised the hosts by‌ taking the lead with Dwight McNeil’s ‍first goal after 16 minutes. Dominic Calvert-Lewin added a second ⁢goal for the visitors in the 27th minute, ⁣but the ⁢Everton side failed to capitalize ‍on⁤ the revival.

Instead, Ollie Watkins, the Aston Villa and⁢ England striker, succeeded in closing the gap with ​a header⁣ in⁢ the ​36th minute. Watkins equalized in⁢ the ⁢58th minute‍ of ​the⁤ second half.

Aston Villa grabbed the winner⁢ in the​ 76th minute with a missile shot from substitute striker John⁢ McGinn, which hit the right clip⁢ of ​Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Aston⁤ Villa moved up to third on nine points, level⁤ with Liverpool, who⁣ lost ‌by one goal to Nottingham Forest on Saturday. As for Everton, they ​missed out on a win⁢ within their reach, with‍ four consecutive defeats leaving them⁣ bottom ⁤of the standings without points in twentieth place.
