Aston Villa Secures Thrilling 3-2 Win⁤ Over Everton in English Football League

Sharjah 24 – Asad Khalil: Aston Villa secured a hard-fought 3-2 win over their visitors Everton in ⁢the fourth round of the English‌ Football League.

Everton surprised the hosts ‌by taking ‌the lead with Dwight​ McNeil’s first goal after ​16⁢ minutes. Dominic Calvert-Lewin added a second goal for the visitors in ⁢the ‌27th‍ minute, but the​ Everton side failed to capitalize on the revival.

Instead, Ollie​ Watkins, the Aston Villa and England striker,‌ succeeded⁣ in closing⁤ the gap with a header in the 36th minute. Watkins equalized in the 58th minute of the second half.

Aston Villa ‍grabbed ‍the winner in the 76th minute with⁣ a missile shot from substitute striker John McGinn, ⁣which hit the right clip of Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Aston Villa moved up ‍to third on nine points, level ⁤with ‍Liverpool, ​who lost by ⁣one goal to Nottingham ⁤Forest on Saturday. As for Everton, they missed⁤ out on a win within their reach, with four ‍consecutive defeats leaving ⁢them bottom of the standings without points in twentieth place.
