Program, Events & Prizes
The event program starts at 9:00 AM with the opening of the Viola Pub and the kiosk at the East Plaza. Enjoy musical entertainment from a DJ, a bouncy castle, and a goal shot wall. Wolfgang Slavik and Erwin Gruber will moderate the event.
The Viola Run opens with the Special Violets Inclusion Run at 9:40 AM, inviting all Austrian supporters to join. The individual and team competition begins at 10:00 AM, featuring Luca Pazourek and Cristiano. The 45-minute run starts at 12:00 PM. The Super Leo Kids Run begins at 1:00 PM, followed by the Leo Violets Juniors Run at 1:15 PM.
The award ceremony for winners will take place at around 1:30 PM in the Viola Pub. The fastest runners in the individual categories for 90 and 45 minutes will win a Samsung Galaxy S24, provided by MTEL. The winning team will receive three gift bags from our partner Sponser.
Race Course & Stairs Challenge
This year, due to construction on the Southeast Tangent, the bike path behind the West Tribune is unavailable. The running direction has been reversed, bringing the course closer to the West Tribune. This change means runners will need to use stairs in the North-West corner.
The Stairs Challenge has been introduced. Those who take the shortest route will face fewer elevation changes. However, if runners choose the outer path, they will encounter more challenges, which we reward! Each runner who runs the outer route will receive a 1% discount on one item of their choice (excluding Macron products) for each outer loop completed. Participants should inform us of their intention during race number pickup.
Running for a Good Cause
A portion of the entry fee will be donated this year. The Martins Vermächtnis Association works for better conditions for people with autism. The aim is to raise awareness and create a society that supports true inclusion.
The association was founded after five-year-old Martin tragically passed away during a kindergarten outing in February 2023. From each adult entry fee, five euros will be donated to the Martins Vermächtnis Association!
Austria Wien thanks its partners and sponsors, especially Verbund, MTEL, Coca-Cola, and FAAC, for making the Viola Run possible.
