Virginia women’s golf coach Ria Scott announced a new signing class of three players for fall 2025. This class is ranked in the top 10 by collegegolfcommits.com. Remi Bacardi ranks No. 34 on Junior Golf Scoreboard for the class of 2025. She was named Miami-Dade Golfer of the Year for the 2024 season. Bacardi will graduate from Palmer Trinity School this spring. She is a four-time Youth Fair Invitational Champion. Bacardi was also named Miami Herald Girls’ Golfer of the Year in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Bacardi has participated in many competitions across the U.S. and internationally. Her achievements include top-five finishes in events like the 2023 AJGA Huntsville Junior and the 2024 AJGA New Orleans Classic. She qualified for the 75th U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship and faced fellow Cavalier Kennedy Swedick in match play.
“Remi is an excellent ball striker and a fierce competitor,” Scott noted. “Her length and focus make her transition to collegiate golf smooth. She constantly seeks improvement and is ready for challenges.”
Elsie MacCleery hails from Crozet, Virginia. She represents Western Albemarle and has earned numerous accolades, including 2024 Central Virginia Player of the Year and 2022 Virginia State Golfer of the Year. With MacCleery on the team, Western Albemarle finished the 2023-2024 season with a 40-0 record, winning the VHSL Class 3 State Championship.

MacCleery has shown her skills in significant tournaments. She achieved Medalist honors at the 53rd VSGA Junior Girls’ Championship and secured top-five finishes at events like the 2023 SCJGA Sea Pines Junior Heritage and the 2024 Donna Andrews Invitational.
“Elsie brings energy, passion, and leadership,” Scott said. “She thrives in team settings and will greatly contribute to our program.”
Yuuki Takada comes to Virginia from Australia and Japan. She won the 2023 Queensland Girls Amateur Championship and has many top-five and top-10 finishes in tournaments.
Takada’s notable performances include the 2023 South Pacific Ladies Open and the 2022 Greg Norman Junior Masters. She received 2022 Golf Australia Girls Order of Merit Honors and has played in several professional events like the 2023 Australian Women’s Classic.
“Yuuki’s experience in big tournaments boosts her confidence,” Scott explained. “She competes with composure, and her adaptability will shine in Charlottesville and at UVA.”
