Vivo has expanded its Y-series smartphone lineup with the launch of the Y05, a new 4G device targeted at the entry-level market. The phone, currently available in select markets including the Middle East and Malaysia, emphasizes practicality with a focus on long battery life and a surprisingly rare feature for this price point: an integrated infrared (IR) blaster.

The inclusion of an IR blaster allows the Y05 to function as a universal remote, controlling devices like televisions and air conditioners – a feature increasingly absent from modern smartphones.

The Y05 features a 6.74-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels (260 ppi).
