Vivo is preparing to expand its X300 series with a new model, the X300 FE, aimed at delivering flagship-level performance at a potentially more accessible price point. While Vivo has yet to officially announce the device, a growing number of leaks and certifications point to an imminent launch. The X300 FE is shaping up to be a compelling contender in the competitive smartphone market, particularly given its expected core specifications.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Power

The most significant detail emerging from recent reports, including listings on Geekbench and coverage from Notebookcheck and Gizmochina, is the inclusion of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This processor represents a significant step up in performance, positioning the X300 FE firmly in the high-end segment. Geekbench scores reportedly show 2,701 in single-core tests and 8,180 in multi-core tests, demonstrating substantial processing power. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 has also been featured in devices like the OnePlus 15R and Motorola Signature, indicating its capabilities.

Memory, Storage and Software

Alongside the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, the X300 FE is expected to feature 12GB of RAM, according to multiple sources including GSMarena and Gadgets360. Storage options are anticipated to include 256GB and 512GB configurations, though it appears there will be no microSD card slot for expandable storage. Notably, the device is expected to ship with Android 16, marking it as one of the first smartphones to run Google’s latest mobile operating system. This will be layered with Vivo’s custom OriginOS 6 user interface.

Design and Display

While detailed information regarding the X300 FE’s design remains limited, current reports suggest a thickness of 8mm. The phone is rumored to come in Black and Blue color options. The display is expected to be 6.31 inches, with a resolution of 1216×2640 pixels, as indicated by GSMarena. This suggests a relatively compact form factor for a flagship-level device.

Charging and Connectivity

The X300 FE has already received certifications from regulatory bodies in India (BIS), Europe (EEC), and Singapore (IMDA), signaling a broad global release. These certifications also hint at support for 90W fast charging, a feature that would allow for rapid battery replenishment. A 40W wireless charging capability is also anticipated. Full connectivity support is expected, though specific details regarding 5G bands and Wi-Fi standards haven’t been released.

Potential Connection to the S50 Pro Mini

Interestingly, Notebookcheck notes that the X300 FE could follow a similar approach to its predecessor, the Vivo X200 Pro Mini, which was a rebranded Vivo S30 Pro Mini. This suggests the X300 FE might be based on the Vivo S50 Pro Mini, which launched in China with a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display, a triple rear camera setup (50MP primary, 50MP periscope telephoto, and 8MP ultrawide), a 6,500mAh battery, and 90W fast charging. The S50 Pro Mini also featured an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and IP69 dust and water resistance.

Implications and Market Positioning

The launch of the Vivo X300 FE is significant for several reasons. First, it demonstrates Vivo’s commitment to bringing cutting-edge technology to a wider audience. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, combined with 12GB of RAM and Android 16, positions the X300 FE as a powerful device capable of handling demanding tasks and applications. Second, the expected price point (while currently unknown) will be crucial in determining its success. If Vivo can deliver these specifications at a competitive price, the X300 FE could disrupt the mid-to-high-end smartphone market. Finally, the global certifications suggest Vivo is aiming for a broad international rollout, making the X300 FE available to consumers in numerous regions.

As with any pre-release information, these details should be viewed as speculative until officially confirmed by Vivo. However, the consistent stream of leaks and certifications strongly suggests that the X300 FE is on the horizon and poised to be a noteworthy addition to Vivo’s smartphone lineup.
