Vladimír Javorský is expanding his musical work with a new project titled Bočemuni, featuring a debut single named Na kole and an upcoming album due in November. The actor, well-known for his film and stage roles, is blending chanson, folk, jazz, and Moravian folklore into his own singer-songwriter repertoire.
Vladimír Javorský Teams Up with Marian Friedl for Bočemuni
Javorský wrote the opening track Na kole
himself, while producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Marian Friedl handled the arrangements. Friedl also plays the folk flute on the recording, which features piano, guitar, double bass, drums, and percussion. The collaboration builds on Javorský’s 2022 debut album, Ještě je
, which also explored various musical genres under Friedl’s production guidance.
Friedl brings extensive experience in jazz and traditional East Moravian music to the project. He is known for playing folk instruments in contemporary settings, having performed with Jitka Šuranská’s trio and led projects such as Beskydská Odysea and 11 podob lásky. His album Beránci a vlci
won the Anděl Award for folk music in 2017.
Linda Arbanová Directs Music Video for Na Kole
The single Na kole
is accompanied by a music video directed by Linda Arbanová, in which Javorský appears alongside fellow actor Pavel Liška. While Javorský’s previous work leaned on smaller arrangements, the Bočemuni project expands the sound to involve a full band. Javorský admitted in an interview with Šárka Hellerová that the full band format initially caught him off guard, noting, It is completely different from what I thought, but for me, the result is beautiful.
He left room for Friedl to infuse the tracks with his distinct musical signature.
Alongside Javorský and Friedl, the ensemble features singer Petra Jelénková, pianist and saxophonist Štěpán Flagar, guitarist Rostislav Hus, bassist, trumpeter, and percussionist Martin Kocián, and drummer and percussionist Michal Wierzgoń.

Javorský Schedules Concerts and Tour Across Czech Republic
Following the album’s release in November, Javorský will launch a series of three concert release events after the new year. He is scheduled to perform in Ostrava on January 27, in Brno on January 28, and in Prague on January 29. The Bočemuni ensemble then plans to embark on a wider tour across the Czech Republic during the first half of next year.
