As projected by the surveys before the 2024 Municipal and Regional Elections, the mayor Tomás Vodanovic finally won re-election in the community of Maipú.
The Frente Amplio candidate prevailed over his competitors and was announced as one of the candidates with the highest percentage of votes obtained (70.11%), precisely in one of the most populous municipalities in Chile.
Defeating Competitors
Under this context, Tomás Vodanovic defeated Enrique Bassaletti, independent of the Republican Party; former mayor of Maipu, Christian Vittori; Yenifer Cerpa of The People’s Party; and Mark Soto, independent.
Tomás Vodanovic’s Statement After Victory
Vodanovic’s comfortable victory gives him some peace of mind for the ruling party, after Irací Hassler (PC) lost the Santiago municipal seat to Mario Desbordes.
“Know that my commitment is to wait for the next four years and work day to day. I am not going to do any disrespect that distracts me from the true objective,” said the re-elected mayor of Maipú.
