Explosions and Evacuations in Ostrogozhsk Region
Following a drone attack in Ukraine, authorities in the Voronezh region reported explosions in the Ostrogozhsk region, leading to the declaration of a state of emergency. Governor Alexander Gusev announced on Telegram that several towns in the area are being evacuated due to an object with explosive materials detonating after catching fire.
Hundreds Evacuated, Highway Closed
According to Governor Gusev, hundreds of people have been brought to safety, and a 54-kilometer stretch of the highway from Voronezh to the eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk has been closed for safety reasons. The highway, which has been under fire, has made it challenging to extinguish the ongoing explosions.
Ukrainian Media Reports Ammunition Depot Hit
Ukrainian media reported that the ammunition depot in the village of Schlachtskoye in western Russia was hit, which was allegedly supplying Russian troops in Ukraine. This information was cited from the Ukrainian military intelligence service SBU.
No Injuries Reported, Residents Relocated
Initially, no injuries were reported, and the extent of the damage was unclear. The majority of residents have relocated to stay with relatives and friends, according to Governor Gusev.
