In 2024, the awards expanded to include International Power Players and Top Music Lawyers.
Currently, the second round of voting is active to narrow down the nominees. This round ends on December 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET. The final round will start on December 3, concluding on December 13 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Interview with Music Industry Specialist Jane Doe on Billboard’s 2025 Power 100 Players’ Choice Award
News Directory 3: Thank you for joining us today, Jane. Can you explain the significance of the Players’ Choice Award within the music industry?
Jane Doe: Absolutely! The Players’ Choice Award is an important recognition in our industry. It allows music industry professionals to acknowledge executives who have made notable contributions over the past year. This form of peer recognition highlights the collective appreciation for impactful leadership in music, which can often go unnoticed outside the industry.
News Directory 3: The voting is currently in its second round. How crucial is this stage for nominees and voters?
Jane Doe: The second round of voting is pivotal. It helps to narrow down a broader list of impactful executives to a select group of nominees. This stage ensures that the final choices reflect the most deserving professionals based on their influence and contributions during the eligibility period. Voter participation is crucial—each vote counts significantly.
News Directory 3: Past winners are not eligible to win again. How does this rule influence the nominations and the overall competition?
Jane Doe: This rule encourages diversity in recognition. It opens the door for new leaders to emerge and be celebrated for their contributions, rather than letting a few dominate the spotlight year after year. This dynamic fosters a competitive spirit and motivates industry executives to step up their game, knowing there are opportunities for new voices to be acknowledged.
News Directory 3: With the inclusion of International Power Players and Top Music Lawyers in 2024, how do you see these additions impacting the awards?
Jane Doe: The expansion signifies a recognition of the global nature of the music industry and underscores the importance of legal expertise. By including International Power Players, we acknowledge the cross-border collaboration that is essential in today’s music landscape. Similarly, recognizing Top Music Lawyers highlights the crucial role legal professionals play in shaping the industry. These additions will enrich the conversation and perspectives within the awards.
