VP of Enterprise Generative AI Software Kari Briski Emphasizes Building a Full Ecosystem Over Customer Competition

NVIDIA’s vice president of generative AI software for enterprise, Kari Briski, has emphasized that the company does not view AI model development as a competitive endeavor against its customers, but rather as a collaborative effort to build a comprehensive ecosystem. This perspective was highlighted in a recent statement where Briski clarified NVIDIA’s role in the evolving AI landscape.

Briski, who oversees strategy, roadmaps and requirements for AI software and services at NVIDIA, brings over 25 years of experience in software development and two decades of leadership in technology product management, including prior work at IBM before joining NVIDIA in 2016. Her background includes a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, grounding her expertise in both technical and strategic aspects of AI infrastructure.

According to Briski, the future of AI is defined by a diverse ecosystem encompassing models of various sizes — large and small — as well as differing accessibility, ranging from open to proprietary, and specialization levels from generalist to specialist. She stressed that this diversity is essential for AI to become core business infrastructure across industries.

In discussing the concept of “open” in AI, Briski rejected the notion that it is merely a slogan or marketing term. Instead, she described it as a foundational principle that guides how technical progress is achieved, particularly in the context of NVIDIA’s Nemotron model family and the surrounding software ecosystem she leads.
