Basel, Switzerland – The draw for the UEFA Women’s euro 2025 has set the stage for a thrilling tournament, with Wales facing a monumental challenge in what’s being called the “group of death.”
Drawn alongside defending champions England, powerhouse France, and world No. 11 ranked Netherlands, Wales will have their work cut out for them in group D.

While Wales faces a daunting task, other groups also promise exciting matchups.World Cup winners Spain headline Group B, facing Portugal, Belgium, and Italy. Prize Money Boost
UEFA announced a significant increase in prize money for the tournament, with a total of €41 million up for grabs, a 156% increase from 2022.
“Participating national associations will now also distribute a guaranteed percentage of the rewards – between 30 per cent and 40 per cent – to their players for the first time,” UEFA stated.
The 16-team tournament will take place in Switzerland from July 2 to 27, with Basel hosting the final. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
