HANOI,vietnam — The ”Balade en France” and Francophonie Festival 2025 is underway in Hanoi,offering a taste of French culture to locals and visitors alike.

the “Balade en France et Francophonie” festival has been held in Hanoi in 2018, 2020, 2023 and 2024. This year’s event coincides with the International Francophonie Day,celebrated annually on March 20.
Organizers say this year is unique, bringing together the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), the University Agency of La Francophonie (AUF), and various French-speaking embassies and institutions in Hanoi.

Nicolas maïnetti, director of AUF – Asia -Pacific, emphasized the importance of french, calling it an asset for young Vietnamese people, who can enhance a language they have learned in primary and secondary, and thanks to which they can consider academic mobility in many french-speaking countries.
The opening ceremony featured dance and song performances by a bilingual school in Hanoi, and also a Taekwondo demonstration. Performances by Vietnamese and French artists were also featured.
A Culinary Journey
Beyond the performances, the festival offers a culinary journey for visitors.
A representative from Red Apron noted that Merlot de Maison castel is a popular wine among Vietnamese consumers.
Chef Zach Truong, an expert in fusion cuisine, is presenting French apple salad with cheese, honey, and pistachios, along with other creations that blend French and Vietnamese culinary traditions.
Visitors can sample wines selected by Anivin de France, fresh fruits and vegetables promoted by Interfel, and high-end cold cuts from the French Federation of the Charcuterie Industries (FICT).
The festival offers a range of flavors and perfumes, from macaroons to cheeses and wines.
Around the stands, people share their love for French language and culture.
One visitor, Trang Nguyên, said, This festival is a unique opportunity to explore the richness of French-speaking culture without leaving Vietnam. I was notably impressed by the variety of activities and the warm welcome of exhibitors.

New this year is “La Petite Ferme,” an interactive space where children can learn about agriculture.
