Wang Ping, a visually impaired judo athlete representing Shanxi province, has secured selection for the Chinese sports delegation heading to the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games, according to profile records on baike.baidu.com. The inclusion follows a series of domestic and international podium finishes across multiple weight classes, establishing her position within China’s national paralympic judo squad.
Competition Results and Medal Count
Wang’s competitive record spans several major national and international tournaments over seven years. In August 2019, she competed in her third national tournament, taking the silver medal in the women’s 70kg visual impairment judo final at the 10th National Games for Persons with Disabilities.
At the 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities combined with the 8th Special Olympics in October 2021, Wang captured gold in the women’s 70kg event on October 24. Two days later, on October 26, she added a silver medal in the women’s over-63kg open weight division.
She continued her international campaign in March 2023 by claiming a bronze medal in the women’s J2 +70kg division at the Egypt Blind Judo Grand Prix. In December 2025, Wang met Liaoning competitor Wang Hongyu in the blind judo J2 +70kg league matches, defeating her opponent to claim another gold medal.
Provincial Training and Official Visits
Throughout her career, Wang has trained alongside the Shanxi blind judo team. In March 2022, the squad began focused preparations for the Hangzhou Asian Para Games, setting a rigorous training pace that has continued into the current cycle.
During the 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities in October 2021, Wu Wei, Vice Governor of Shanxi Province and head of the provincial delegation, visited Wang in her capacity as an outstanding disabled athlete representative, holding a personal exchange with her and the team’s coaches.
Athlete Perspective
Following her medal performance at the 2019 national competition, Wang reflected on her path in the sport during an interview. What able-bodied people can do, people with disabilities can also do,
Wang stated, describing this realization as her primary takeaway from participating in visually impaired judo.

Asian Para Games Selection
Official delegation announcements confirmed Wang’s selection on October 10, 2026, for the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games. She and the Shanxi blind judo squad are continuing intensive training routines as they finalize preparations for the international tournament.
