Journalist Saif Zaher Criticizes Pyramids Goalkeeper Sherif Ekrami Amid Controversy

Journalist Saif Zaher recently attacked Pyramids goalkeeper Sherif Ekrami on the “X” social media platform, following a statement made by former Al-Ahly player Ahmed Bilal about Zamalek.

Ahmed Bilal sparked controversy with his statements downplaying Zamalek’s chances of victory against Al-Ahly in the African Super Championship. He later apologized for his comments.

Saif Zaher expressed his opinion on the matter during an appearance on On Time Sports 1 channel. He stated, “Sherif Ekrami made a mistake by bringing Bilal on stage and apologizing.”

Zaher continued, “The timing of the post was not ideal. Although the content was accurate and respectful, it was not suitable for that moment.”

He further explained, “The audience’s reaction was telling. They parted with Sherif Ekrami and Ahmed Bilal, indicating a lack of success in their approach.”

Zaher emphasized the importance of constructive criticism, saying, “If I see that my colleague’s player is not successful, I will pick up the phone and offer my advice. In this case, Ahmed Bilal did not succeed, and Sherif Ekrami’s apology did not succeed either.”
