Apple’s WatchOS 26, unveiled at WWDC 2025, brings a host of enhancements to the Apple Watch experience. Eschewing sequential numbering, apple now aligns its OS naming with the fiscal year. The update, expected this fall, includes a visual overhaul called Liquid Glass and integrates Apple Intelligence features.
The new operating system, WatchOS 26, will be available for Apple Watch Series 6 and later, including the second-generation Apple Watch SE and all Apple Watch Ultra models. Users will also need an iPhone 11 or later running iOS 26. Apple Intelligence features require an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone, such as the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or iPhone 16 models.
A developer beta for WatchOS 26 is currently available. A public beta is slated for release next month, with the full version arriving as a free software update this fall.
