Wausau is grappling with the extraordinary reality of “revivers” on Syfy’s new series, “Revival.” These individuals, deceased for less than two weeks, have returned to life, seemingly normal and healed of fatal injuries. The premiere episode revealed that Em (Romy Weltman), daughter of Sheriff Wayne (David james Elliott), is one of these revivers. Em confides in her sister,Dana (Melanie scrofano),that she wants to keep this a secret from their father,who also happens to be Dana’s boss.
Dana has so far kept Em’s secret.In the second episode, Wayne cautions Dana regarding Em, who has Osteogenesis imperfecta, and voices his desire to incarcerate all revivers. Executive producers Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce addressed how Wayne’s stance might shift if he knew his own daughter was a reviver. koontz confirmed this question will be explored in a future episode.
Boyce said Em’s situation creates compelling drama. Dana initially views the revivers from a detached, professional outlook, while Wayne holds strong negative opinions.
