The Favorites
Canada’s Camryn Rogers, the reigning world and Olympic champion, heads to Tokyo as a strong favorite. She won gold at the 2023 World Championships in budapest with a throw of 77.22m World Athletics and followed that with Olympic gold in Paris 2024. Rogers consistently delivers under pressure and will be looking to add another championship title to her remarkable resume.
The United States boasts a formidable quartet of throwers – Brooke Andersen, Janee Kassanavoid, Deanna Price, and Rachel richeson – all capable of challenging for a medal. Andersen, with a personal best of 79.18m set in 2023 World Athletics,is a consistent performer.
