Western digital Expands Storage Options with High-Capacity SSDs, microSD Cards

Western Digital is broadening its storage lineup with the introduction of high-capacity solutions, including a 16 TB SanDisk Desk Drive and a 16 TB portable SSD under the SanDisk Extreme Pro label. These new drives, along with 4 TB microSDUC and 8 TB SDUC cards, utilize the company’s BiCS8 218-layer 3D NAND technology.
The SanDisk Ultra-branded microSDUC and SDUC cards are rated for UHS-I speeds. The Desk Drive, already available in capacities up to 8 TB, will soon feature a 16 TB version. The current Desk Drive models use TLC NAND,but it remains uncertain if the 16 TB version will use QLC NAND.
