Divorce Lawyer​ Spider: The Battle for Alimony

Higuchi ​Kohei and Shibuya Nagisa have ‌been confirmed to appear​ in “Divorce ‍Lawyer ⁤Spider: The Battle for Alimony” (starting ⁤October 4th on Nippon ​TV and others, every Friday from 12:30am to 12:59am *first​ episode will air from 12:35am), starring Takahashi Maryjun and co-starring ​Kaneko Nobuaki.

This ⁤is the second installment of Nippon Television’s new‍ Friday’s EDGE slot, which began airing in April​ 2024. ⁣This ‍is a⁣ thrilling legal entertainment series ⁢in which a lawyer whose motto‌ is “zero upfront fees” and “alimony is a‍ passport to restart your life” thoroughly crushes “shitty husbands” with unconventional⁢ investigations.

The lead actress, Mary Jun​ Takahashi, plays Asuka Mikumo, a divorce lawyer who fights tirelessly for women who have been unfairly oppressed ‍and hurt, and relentlessly collects compensation. Nobuaki Kaneko plays Tatsuya Ichinose, ⁤Mikumo’s ex-husband, ⁢a lawyer at one of the largest law firms in the ⁢industry.

The director is Takuro​ Oikawa, known for his work on the drama series “Detective 7,” “Anonymous:⁤ The Metropolitan Police Department’s Finger Murder Countermeasures Office,” and “Lawyer ‍Sodom.”⁣ Director Oikawa, who is known for his stylish visuals and his detailed direction ​of the characters’ ‍emotional fluctuations, will team up with producer Koichi Hamatani, who ⁤has worked on the drama series ⁢”Byplayers,” which was‌ also made into a⁤ movie, as well as “The Kotaki Brothers and Their Struggles,” “Fruit Delivery ⁣Service,”⁤ and “A Town Without ⁤Seasons.”

This time, Kohei Higuchi and Nagisa Shibuya have been newly ⁣confirmed to appear in the series. Higuchi plays Jun Ikemoto, a paralegal at Mikumo’s small private ⁣law firm, Mikumo Law Firm. He will ‌be⁤ a character who kindly⁢ supports his clients and uses his extensive​ IT knowledge to support Mikumo.

Higuchi was ⁤a talented soccer ⁢player ⁤who competed nationally in ‍high​ school, and⁤ after being scouted on⁢ the street, he made his acting debut in 2020. ‍In ⁢2022, he was selected as ⁤the main character in the⁤ Super Sentai series, and was ranked 14th in‌ the NOW category of the “ViVi ‌National Treasure-level⁤ Handsome Men Ranking” for the⁤ first half of 2024.

Shibuya plays Maika Ihara, a freelance investigator ​whom‍ Mikumo trusts. She usually speaks bluntly in⁢ Kansai dialect, but when she infiltrates a place for research, she becomes​ a chameleon-like character‌ who ⁢can⁢ change her appearance at will. Her disguises are also a highlight of the show.

Shibuya will graduate from‍ NMB48, ⁢after 11 years⁣ of membership, at the end ⁤of 2023, ‌and has since been active ​in⁤ a variety of fields, ⁣not only ‌appearing in variety⁤ shows and‌ radio, but⁣ also making use⁢ of her natural and ⁣outstanding sense of humor.

The⁢ first thing I felt when I read the script was that ‌the tempo of the work was very comfortable, the story was repetitive and convincing, and each‍ and⁢ every line was filled with emotion.

I play​ Jun Ikemoto, who ⁣supports Mikumo-sensei with his kindness and extensive ​IT knowledge, and falls‌ in love with her. I⁤ hope you will look forward to his rivalry with Tatsuya and the conclusion of⁢ Jun’s love.

Nagisa Shibuya

It is a work filled with justice and compassion,⁢ and I found it very exciting ⁣to read.

The reasons for divorce are‌ varied, and while it delves into the ⁢realities of modern society, it was satisfying and left me feeling refreshed as the ‌issues‌ were resolved decisively in each⁤ episode!

I will⁤ be playing the role of ⁤Ihara Maika, an investigator working⁣ at the Mikumo Law Firm.
