Mark Your Calendars: Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Pre-Orders Kick Off on January 23
Exciting news, tech enthusiasts! Pre-orders for the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S25 series are now live, swooping in like a stealthy falcon from January 23 to February 7. And as tradition demands, Samsung’s sweetening the pot with some tantalizing upgrades and perks for those early birds.
Our tech-savvy squad at GSMArena have already had a hands-on reviewing experience with the Galaxy S25 trio. Check out their hands-on review and video to get a sneak peek.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra: A Camera and Chipset Showstopper
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has two standout features: an upgraded camera and a new, power-efficient chipset.
First off, the ultra-wide camera module boasts a 50MP sensor – a significant leap from the 12MP variant found in the S20 to S24 Ultra series. To cap off this camera upgrade, the new Snapdragon 8 Elite’s Image Signal Processor delivers more processing power, ensuring that your shots are crystal clear and packed with detail. If you’re still not convinced, take a gander at the camera face-off between the Galaxy S25 Ultra and its predecessor.

Slimmer, Lighter, and Rounded: The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s Revamped Design
Samsung has given the Galaxy S25 Ultra a subtle yet noticeable facelift. The screen size has been incrementally bumped up to 6.9 inches, achieved by slimming down the bezels. The corners are now rounded off, and Gorilla Armor 2 with an anti-reflective coating provides an extra layer of protection. Notably, the S Pen has been transformed back into a fully passive device, sans wireless actions.
The Galaxy S25 Plus: A Chipset Upgrade and a New Contender
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus seems to be playing a game of catch-up with the Ultra model, offering only a chipset upgrade compared to its predecessor. However, Samsung’s recent teaser of the Galaxy S25 Edge has raised eyebrows, signaling that the Plus line might be undergoing a significant evolution or even becoming the new face of the S-series.

The Galaxy S25: More RAM, Thinner Design, and… That’s It?
Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy S25 finally bumps up the RAM to a respectable 12GB. But Samsung’s generosity seems to run out at that point, as even the base storage model sticks with a paltry 128GB. Moreover, there’s no jump in charging speed (it’s still a measly 25W) or the addition of Ultra-Wideband technology.

One silver lining? The S25 series is 0.4mm thinner and a few grams lighter than their predecessors, with an Ultra model that’s 14g lighter – an impressive feat.
Prices Stay Steady, Trade-Ins Make the Cut
