This strategic‍ move, announced this week, ‍sees WELL acquiring 13 owned⁢ and operated primary care clinics across Canada, along with a clinic licensing business ‍encompassing⁣ 59 licensee clinics. These will form the foundation of WELL’s new ⁢Affiliate Clinic business stream.

“This acquisition marks another significant⁢ milestone for WELL as we expand ⁤our⁣ clinical footprint to include‍ Walmart stores‌ in Canada,” said⁣ Hamed Shahbazi, founder and CEO of WELL Health. “the addition of Jack Nathan’s network strengthens⁢ WELL’s position as the largest clinic owner-operator in the country and introduces a new ⁤business model that gives healthcare providers another way⁣ to partner with WELL.”

The acquired clinics will be rebranded as WELL⁢ Health⁣ Medical Centres, ‌reflecting the company’s commitment to tech-enabled healthcare delivery.

A New Model for Healthcare Access

WELL’s Affiliate Clinic model allows the company to⁤ generate high-margin rental income from clinics without directly ⁣managing their day-to-day operations. This scalable approach empowers autonomous healthcare ⁤providers to operate their clinics while leveraging WELL’s tools and infrastructure.

“through the newly acquired licensing ⁢arrangement with Walmart Canada, WELL gains a unique chance to deliver care ⁢conveniently‌ in high-traffic, densely populated areas ‌within⁣ walmart Canada’s footprint of over 400 locations, including geographies not currently‌ served by⁢ WELL,” Shahbazi explained.

Walmart Canada,with ‍over 400 locations across the country,sees this partnership as a way ⁤to ⁢enhance healthcare‌ accessibility for Canadians.

“We want ‌to ⁢be the health and ‌wellness ⁤destination for ⁣the communities we ‍serve,” said ⁢Alex‍ Hurd,Vice President ⁢of Health Services at Walmart Canada.⁢ “We ‍welcome‍ WELL into the Walmart Canada ecosystem geared towards enhancing access to affordable, personalized ⁤care for all Canadians.”

WELL’s Continued Growth

This acquisition builds ⁤on WELL’s impressive growth trajectory. Last year, the Vancouver Canucks selected WELL as their ⁢Official ⁢Medical Services Provider, utilizing the WELL Health Medical & Longevity center.

Currently, WELL’s solutions empower 33,000 healthcare providers across North america. The⁢ company, named a Life Sciences BC Company of the⁢ Year for ‍2023, is publicly traded on the toronto Stock Exchange under⁣ the symbol WELL.
