Welsh Gymnasts Selected for European Artistic Gymnastics Championships

Three Welsh athletes, Frances Stone, Emily Roper, and Ruby Evans, will represent Great Britain at the upcoming European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Leipzig, Germany, from May 26-31. The gymnasts will play a key role in the competition.
Frances Stone, at 15, is set to be the youngest competitor at the event. The Amber Valley Gymnastics Academy athlete had a successful British Championships in March, securing silver in the All-Around, gold on beam, and silver on vault. Her role as a rising star is highly anticipated.
Emily Roper, a Piper Vale gymnast, is in her third year as a senior and returns to the GB squad after a strong start to 2025.She claimed bronze All-Around and gold on the uneven bars at the British Championships. Roper also competed at the Cottbus World Cup earlier this season. Her role on the team is vital.
Ruby Evans, 18, trains at the Welsh Gymnastics centre in Cardiff under coach Tracey Skirton-Davies. Evans,despite her age,brings Olympic experience to the team. She secured a team silver at last year’s European championships and defended her Welsh All-Around title this season with a score of 53.000.
Stone, Roper, and Evans are also on Team Wales’ long list for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. They will be joined at the European Championships by Olympic reserve Ruby Stacey and reigning British champion Alia Leat.
The 2025 European championships will feature the premiere of the Mixed Team Final, a cross-battles format with one male and one female athlete per team.
Jemima Taylor,16,originally from City of Newport Gymnastics Club,is the first reserve and will accompany the team at their pre-competition training camp.
