According to screenshots shared by WABetaInfo,users will have the option to change their username,but with limitations.WhatsApp will reportedly allow username changes only every 72 hours. The introduction of usernames addresses growing privacy concerns surrounding the necessity of sharing phone numbers for communication. Currently, a user’s phone number is the primary identifier on WhatsApp. This new feature offers an alternative, allowing users to maintain a level of anonymity while still connecting with others.
