Laljos Reveals How Priyamani Was Initially Chosen for Chantpot
Laljos, a renowned Malayalam film director, has made a name for himself in the industry with his successful films. He made his directorial debut with Oru Maravathur Kanav and has since become one of the leading directors in Malayalam cinema.
Currently, Laljos is also active in acting, with his film Chantpot receiving significant attention. The film starred Gopika as the heroine, but Laljos reveals that Priyamani was initially chosen for the role.
Laljos explains that he was looking for a new heroine for Chantpot and had Priyamani in mind. After meeting with her, he was impressed and shared the story of the film with her. Priyamani was initially on board, but before filming began, she received an offer from director Vinayan for a film starring Prithviraj.
«The story of Chant Pot was almost ready. We wanted someone new as the heroine. I called a man after saying that there is a Tamil girl. Her name was Priyamani. So I met that girl. We like her. When I told them the story, they said they can,» Laljos recalls.
Priyamani ultimately chose to act in the film with Prithviraj, leaving Laljos to find a new heroine for Chantpot. He eventually cast Gopika in the role.
So Priyamani went straight and acted in that film. And with that we are out of heroine. After that I will fix Gopika as the heroine,» Laljos says.
