New York, NY – After a festive launch event in the heart of Times Square, the Light the World Giving Machines have relocated just a few blocks away, bringing the spirit of giving even closer to the iconic landmark.
The machines, known for dispensing essential items and supporting various charities, will now be stationed in front of Our Saviour Church on Park Avenue and 38th Street. This strategic move places the giving Machines near the church’s Nativity scene, symbolizing the connection between faith and service.”We’ve put that Giving machine next to the scene of the Nativity from Bethlehem of 2,000 years ago,” said Monsignor Kevin Sullivan of the Catholic Archdiocese of New York. “We’ve done that intentionally, because religion cannot be just turning in on ourselves. Even more so it cannot be used as a weapon to divide us from each other.”
Monsignor Sullivan extended a warm invitation to all visitors, encouraging them to experience the Giving machines firsthand. “If anybody is coming to Times Square, take a walk just a few blocks away and give to the Giving Machine in New York,” he urged. ”If you’re taking the train into Grand Central Station, walk a few blocks south and use the Giving Machine. If you’re coming into Penn Station, take a walk and use the Giving Machine on Park Avenue and 38th street.”
The Giving Machines initiative, spearheaded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, aims to inspire generosity and compassion during the Christmas season. By providing a tangible way to help those in need, the machines embody the true spirit of giving.
“I thank The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints for this fantastic initiative gathering us all together, and I invite you all to be givers this season,” Monsignor Sullivan concluded.
