Purpose:

To support the development and implementation of effective NCD interventions across the african Region.
Functions of the TAG:
Advise on progress towards NCD targets.
Recommend solutions to challenges in achieving those targets.
Contribute to the development of regional strategic documents.
Strengthen partnerships between stakeholders (WHO-AFRO, Member States, NGOs, academia, development partners).
Propose new strategic interventions.
Operations:
Meetings will be held approximately twice a year, perhaps in-person (brazzaville, Congo or elsewhere) or virtually.
Meetings can be open or closed session, decided by the Chairperson and WHO-AFRO.
Who is being sought?
Approximately 25 members will be selected.
The group will be multidisciplinary, with expertise in:
NCD case management, rehabilitation, and public health interventions (cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, oral/eye/ear health, NCD risk factors, violence, and injuries)
NCD surveillance and research
NCD program implementation and evaluation
NCD policy, governance, and advocacy
health systems related to NCDs (medicines, finance, service delivery, workforce)
Specifically welcomes scientists, healthcare professionals, healthcare regulators, and people with lived experiance with NCDs.
