With the fact that comedian Kim Byung-man (49) was accused of assaulting his ex-wife and sent to the prosecution as it became known belatedly, the truth battle between Kim Byung-man and his ex-wife continues to be a sharp confrontation. ‘Evidence’ is expected to be the key point in their fight, including demanding 3 billion won and signing up for death insurance.

Sky Turtle, Kim Byung-man’s agency, said in an official statement on November 12, “It is not true that Kim Byung-man assaulted his ex-wife. She (ex-wife A) filed a false complaint to avoid paying the court the money recognized as division of property in the divorce suit. “The police have already sent the case to the prosecution with a decision not to indict, and the fact of assault was not acknowledged in the Supreme Court ruling.”

The agency said, “Kim Byung-man has mainly been involved in entertainment shows, starting with ‘Law of the Jungle’ and ending with ‘King of Survival’. He managed the hard-earned appearance fees. Although the division of property was decided in the divorce suit, Kim Byung-man earned money through entertainment. “He holds most of the money, so Kim Byung-man has to receive the money,” he explained.

He continued, “Even after the divorce decision was made, she still kept her daughter on Kim Byung-man’s family register, demanding 3 billion won to dispose of her adult daughter. Kim Byung-man was shocked to find out during the divorce suit that she had already taken out dozens of life insurance policies. “I also received it,” he added.

Regarding this, the channel ‘Entertainment Du President’ said, ‘You took out 15 death insurance policies? A video titled ‘Why the truth battle with Kim Byung-man’s ex-wife’ was released.

In the video, Jin-ho Lee said about Kim Byung-man’s truth battle, “Mr. Kim Byung-man, who was at the peak of his popularity through KBS Master and SBS Law of the Jungle, married a woman who was 7 years older than him and had a third marriage, so it was a hot topic from the time of his marriage.” He opened his mouth.

He said, “The couple’s divorce was first revealed through the media in November of last year. However, the actual date of divorce was in 2020, not last year. So the period of marriage between the two was only about 9 years,” and “only one year.” “I investigated why two people who had previously stated that they were supporting each other ended up engaging in a battle over the truth that was heading towards catastrophe,” he said.

Jin-ho Lee focused on the blind spots in the conflict between the former couple, such as whether they were separated, falsification of private documents, and revelations of habitual assault. He said, “When Kim Byeong-man and Mr. A got married, Mr. A’s daughter was added to Kim Byeong-man’s family register. Kim Byeong-man’s side claimed that Mr. A demanded 3 billion won in exchange for the divorce.” He added, “When we covered it, we found that there was a misunderstanding in what he said. Mr. A never asked for 3 billion won, but while Mr. A managed the money of the Kim Byeong-man family, a significant portion of the assets were in the name of his ex-wife, Mr. A. He explained that he received property division from Mr. A, and the amount that Kim Byeong-man received for property division was a whopping 2 billion won.”

He said, “And it was said that there was a record of his ex-wife A transferring money worth 700 million won during her marriage to Byung-man Kim. From the time the money was first transferred to the time the divorce was established, there was interest on the money worth about 700 million won. This means that the amount increased by about 300 million won, including the 2 billion won that Mr. Kim Byeong-man should receive in property division, the 700 million won that his ex-wife A transferred, and the interest on that amount, which is 3 billion won. Kim Byung-man’s side claimed that he was asked to give up this right during negotiations with his ex-wife A during the divorce process, and ultimately demanded 3 billion won in exchange for the divorce based on this situation. “It came out,” he added.

Jin-ho Lee emphasized, “However, it has not been confirmed whether this was said in exchange for the dissolution of the relationship,” and added, “In particular, out of the 2 billion won in property division decided to be divided to Mr. Kim Byeong-man, about 1.5 billion has already been transferred to Mr. Kim Byeong-man through provisional seizure.” It was said.

Jin-ho Lee also claimed, “From Kim Byeong-man’s perspective, he couldn’t help but be shocked. Unknowingly, his wife had taken out dozens of life insurance policies and ended up with death insurance. However, both sides had different opinions on this insurance as well.”

He said, “First of all, it is true that there were close to 20 insurance policies in Mr. Kim Byeong-man’s name, but it was difficult to view all of them as life insurance or death insurance. Including the insurance that Mr. Kim Byeong-man had before marriage, investment insurance, pension insurance, life insurance, etc. “It seems true that the total number was in the dozens, but it was only about 10 cases rather than dozens, and death insurance was only a part of them.”

Jin-ho Lee summarized, “This controversy, which started with the ex-wife’s revelation, has so far been in a situation where the claims of both sides are sharply conflicting. As a result, it is a battle of evidence. Attention is paid to which of the two sides will present key evidence first.”

Meanwhile, according to the Uijeongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province on the 13th, Kim Byung-man was sent to the prosecution on charges of assault and injury last July. Earlier this year, his ex-wife, Mr. A, filed a complaint against Mr. Kim to the police, saying, “I was repeatedly assaulted while fighting over family issues over the past several years.” It is known that Mr. A submitted 20 medical records, saying that the assaults took place from March 2010 to June 2019.

However, Kim Byung-man’s side denied the assault charges. Accordingly, the police responded that ‘assault’ and ‘injury’ were not mentioned in the medical record submitted by Mr. ‘The case was handed over to the prosecution on July 24th.

The Uijeongbu District Prosecutors’ Office, which received the case, is currently conducting an investigation. It has been reported that no decision has yet been made to indict or not indict.
