Rapper Offset is in stable condition after being shot outside a casino in Hollywood, Florida, on April 6, 2026. A spokesperson for the artist confirmed that he is being treated at a hospital and is being closely monitored.

The Seminole Police Department reported that the incident occurred after 19:00 on April 6, 2026, in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock. Authorities stated that the individual involved sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.

Investigation and Detainees

Law enforcement officials have detained two individuals in connection with the shooting. One of the detained individuals is rapper Lil Tjay, born Tione Jayden Merritt, who has been charged with disorderly conduct.

The Seminole Police Department indicated that the investigation remains ongoing. Police are currently working to identify one or more additional persons who may have been involved in the incident.

Career Background

Kiari Kendrell Cephus, known professionally as Offset, rose to international prominence as a member of the Atlanta-based hip-hop trio Migos. Formed in 2008 alongside rappers Quavo and Takeoff, the group became one of the most influential acts of their generation.

During their tenure, Migos released four commercially successful studio albums: Yung Rich Nation in 2015, Culture in 2017, Culture II in 2018, and Culture III in 2021. The group achieved significant chart success with the 2013 song Versace and the 2017 hit Bad and Boujee, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Offset transitioned into a solo career following the group’s disbandment in 2023. His solo trajectory included the 2017 collaborative album Without Warning with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin, which featured the single Ric Flair Drip. He also achieved solo success with appearances on Tyga’s Taste and Kodak Black’s Zeze.

Personal Life and Previous Tragedies

Offset married rapper and singer Cardi B in 2017. The couple has three children together; however, they separated in 2023 and filed for divorce in 2024.

This incident follows a previous tragedy involving the artist’s former group mate. In November 2022, Takeoff was shot and killed at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas.
