Wife Presses Inmate Husband on Connection to Nurse’s Murder During Tense Call
Title: Accusations in Nursing Student’s Murder Case
José Ibarra‘s wife, Layling Franco, accused him of having knowledge about the death of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley. This accusation came during a recorded jail phone call, where she demanded, “What happened to that girl?”
FBI agent Abeisis Ramírez testified about the call that took place on May 11. Ramírez listened to nearly 400 calls made by Ibarra from prison. During the conversation, Franco expressed her frustration and disbelief, stating it was crazy that only Ibarra’s DNA was found on Riley and questioning why he did not call 911 upon witnessing her death.
Ibarra’s dismissive reply to Franco was, “Enough, Layling. Enough.” He did not provide answers to her inquiries about Riley’s death. Franco repeatedly conveyed her annoyance, claiming she was “tired” of Ibarra’s behavior.
This testimony unfolded during the ongoing murder trial related to Laken Riley’s case.
