Seventeen-year-old French defender William Mirwasser has visited the training facilities of Everton and Blackburn Rovers during the international break as he plots a future move to Europe, according to reports. The right-back, who plays his senior club football for Hong Kong FC, is evaluating several potential destinations before he becomes eligible to officially switch clubs next year.
Facility Tours at Everton and Blackburn Rovers
Alongside his visit to Merseyside, the Parisian-born teenager also inspected the training facilities of EFL Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
A source quoted in the French sports daily explained the motivation behind the visits.
The idea behind these trips is to discover the training centres of these clubs. And also to discuss the player’s future. Nothing has been decided yet, so we want to take the time to explore all the possibilities available to him before he commits to a new club next summer.

Strict Age Restrictions Delaying the Transfer
Although Mirwasser wants a European transfer as a priority, strict regulations prevent him from completing a move immediately. He has featured as a senior starter in Hong Kong’s top flight since turning 16, but FIFA rules and transfer windows dictate that he cannot officially sign with a new team until he reaches his 18th birthday on August 28, 2027, as detailed by L’Équipe.

While an ideal move would take him back to his native France, the teenager is keeping his options open across multiple leagues.
Upcoming Visits to Strasbourg and Lecce
The defender’s European tour will continue during the next international break in November. L’Équipe understands that Mirwasser plans to visit the training facilities of French Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg Alsace and Italian club Lecce before narrowing down his choices.
No final agreement has been reached with any prospective club. Mirwasser intends to complete his evaluation of all interested parties before committing to a permanent transfer ahead of next August.
