British tennis star Jack Draper advanced to the second round at Wimbledon after his opponent, Sebastian baez, retired due to injury. Draper, considered a contender for the Wimbledon title, dominated the first set before Baez’s injury.

Dan Evans secured his first Wimbledon victory in four years, defeating fellow Briton Jay Clarke in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5, 6-2. Evans may face Novak Djokovic in the second round, should Djokovic defeat Alexandre Muller.
“It was amazing,” Evans told the BBC. “Really unfortunate to have to play Jay… I’m just delighted to come through it.”
In another notable result, 22-year-old Jack Pinnington Jones marked his Wimbledon debut with a straight-sets victory over world no. 53, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, 7-6 (4), 6-3, 7-5. Pinnington Jones will now face Flavio Cobolli.
Watson, Burrage fall at first hurdle
