The police have launched a city-wide anti-fraud lottery to encourage citizens to download and use the “Anti-Fraud Video App”. According to the police, in the first seven months of this year, the number of fraud cases and the amount of losses increased by 12% and 55.3% respectively, reaching an astonishing 24,407 cases and a loss of more than 5.1 billion.
In response to this severe situation, as of mid-September, the number of downloads of the “Anti-Fraud Video App” has exceeded 570,000 times. The lottery aims to raise citizens’ awareness of fraud prevention. The event was officially launched at 9 a.m. on October 1.
